Home Free’s a cappella guys perform a stirring rendition of “God Bless The USA” with Lee Greenwood and the US Air Force Band.
Lee Greenwood first published “God Bless The USA” in 1984. Lee had a persistent need to compose a patriotic song, and when Korean Air Lines Flight 007 was shot down, he thought the moment had come to bring the country together.
The song gained popularity on the country charts, but it wasn’t until after the September 11th attacks that it truly took off.
‘And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me’
The fourth season of The Sing-Off featured Home Free, an American a cappella group that competed and took first place. Austin Brown, Rob Lundquist, Adam Rupp, Tim Foust, and Adam Chance make up the band Home Free, which has been showcasing its distinctive sound for many years.
Today, they will perform an unique rendition of “God Bless The USA” alongside renowned singer Lee Greenwood and the United States Air Force Band.
‘And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.’
We can find comfort in the knowing that we are all God’s children and that He loves each and every one of us even in these trying times for our country. God will bless our land and make the route clear when we stand together.
