Canadian actor Keanu Reeves said that he would definitely consider becoming a US citizen almost thirty-seven years after moving to the Country.

The John Wick star moved to America in 1986 at the age of 20.

Reeves appeared in an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday and recalled his early years in Toronto and how he was so passionate about becoming an actor.

“I came to Hollywood when I was 20, drove in my car,” he told Jimmy. “I’ve been living here since 1985.”

The show host, Kimmel, 54, then said that although Keanu had been residing in the US for more than three decades, he is still not a citizen.

“And, yet technically, you’re not a US citizen,” asked Kimmel.

“You’re a Canadian, and you’ll always be a Canadian, but is that not something you’re interested in, being a US citizen?” he further added.

“Yeah, absolutely,” the John Wick actor replied. “Yeah, man, why not?”

When Jimmy Kimmel jokingly said that President Joe Biden should call the Matrix star and personally ask him why he hasn’t signed up for US citizenship yet, Keanu said,

“I would send the 46th president copies of my new comic book BRZRKR to prove I have what it takes” he laughed.

The show host then took out the citizenship papers from under his desk and joked that he could marry the Point Break actor to speed up the process.

“But you’re married,” Keanu laughed.

Jimmy responded: “I know, but I told her that we might have to make some amendments to our constitution.”

Jimmy even offered to host a ceremony on his show to honor Keanu as soon as he officially becomes a citizen.

“And we’ll get all your favorite heroes, Captain America and Wonder Woman will come here; it’ll be very patriotic,” he said.

“And the leprechaun,” Keanu added.

“You can still be a dual citizen, right? I mean, I don’t want to, like, you know, right?” said Jimmy while he joked that if Keanu becomes a US citizen, Canada will lose a great asset.

“Two sometimes is better than one, right? Better for ice cream…” the actor responded.

The actor also discussed his dream role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and said that his younger self would like to play Ghost Rider in a Marvel movie.

“10-year-old Reeves would want to — I think he’d probably want to be Ghost Rider.”

“It’s really cool. I think the way that the Marvel films have developed and what they are is really spectacular, and it would be great to be a part of that.”

Reeves is one of the most loved and popular actors in Hollywood. Every role that he’s played so far has gained immense popularity, and fans go crazy whenever he appears on the big screen.

He is famous for acting in blockbuster movies like John Wick, Speed, Point Break, The Matrix, The Lake House, The Replacements, Exposed, Constantine, Man of Tai Chi, and Replicas.
