“Whether man or beast, our crews stand ready to answer the call for help, even if it means crawling through 200 feet of slurpee-like ice.”

That is what the U.S. Coast Guard of Great Lakes in Frankfort, Michigan posted in Facebook after their group protected a canine from the freezing waters between Lake Michigan and Betsie Lake on February 3, 2015.

The group had been at a gathering when the call came in that somebody had seen a canine dive into the frosty channel. They immediately assembled the conference to a near put on their defensive stuff and rush out to save the canine. Here is the emotional film of the canine’s salvage!

The video beneath is a short film showing exactly how far Tim Putnam needed to swim to get to the dog.

The Labrador Retriever was taken to Animal Welfare League of Benzie County and given a decent doctor’s report before she was subsequently rejoined with her owner.
