A 75-year-old woman was about to be arrested and hauled away from her home in handcuffs before four young boys stepped in to save her.
Gerry Suttle, 75, was issued a notice to appear in court because the grass at her Texas home had grown over 18 inches, which is against the state’s law. Suttle had no idea that this law even existed, and she also said she never got the letter informing her that she had to go before a judge. When she missed her court appearance, a warrant was issued for Suttle arrested.
When four young boys heard about this, they knew they had to help Suttle. Though they had never met the elderly woman, they said helping her was the “least they could do.”
Despite the fact that it was over 90 degrees outside, the boys showed up to start mowing Suttle’s large lawn. When neighbors saw what the boys were doing, they grabbed their own lawnmowers to help! This was about more than just mowing the lawn: it was about helping an elderly woman who desperately needed it.
With everyone pitching in to help, the lawn was mowed in just two hours! Suttle was incredibly touched when she saw what they had done.
“I cannot believe this. I’m very seldom without words, but this is one time, you mark it down in history, that I didn’t have anything to say,” she said through tears.
