They sometimes say that all good things must come to an end and I think that is what we are discussing here. It’s the end of an era, and one that we perhaps never thought we would see closing.
Aerosmith has released a statement saying that they were no longer able to tour. They decided to stop touring and retire from the stage permanently.
This wasn’t something that the band decided easily and they admitted they were heartbroken. Steven Tyler had suffered from a voice injury and had tried to repair the damage but it was not possible for him to get his voice back again.
As the frontman for Aerosmith, Steven Tyler was really relied on to give them their unique sound. Now that they are retiring, they released a statement that really shows the depth of their feeling for music and for each other.
“It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith.
“Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught flame and has been burning for over five decades. Some of you have been with us since the beginning and all of you are the reason we made rock ‘n’ roll history.
“It has been the honor of our lives to have our music become part of yours. In every club, on every massive tour and at moments grand and private you have given us a place in the soundtrack of your lives.
“As you know, Steven’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months tirelessly working on getting his voice to where it was before his injury.”
“We’ve seen him struggling despite having the best medical team by his side. Sadly, it is clear, that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible. We have made a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.”

The band had a lot of gratitude for their fans and even referred to them as the best fans on planet Earth. They also are going to refund the tickets for anyone who has purchased one to see them at any time in the future.
They were going to play 40 dates across the United States but unfortunately, they couldn’t recover after Steven Tyler fractured his larynx in 2023.
His daughter, Mia Tyler spoke about it, saying: “He’s not supposed to be talking sometimes, so I have to literally yell at him and be like, ‘You can’t be on the phone with me right now, let’s just text’.”
She joked: “You can’t shut him up – he can’t close that mouth.”
We will miss your music. Thanks for the great tunes!
