Alec Baldwin has made a lot of headlines in the last couple of years and not all of them have been so great for him. After a very trying time for him and his family…

Now, it seems the actor is venturing into something new. And it seems a lot of people have opinions about his latest career move.

Keep reading to learn more about Alec Baldwin’s latest update.

Alec Baldwin married his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, in 2012. The couple shares seven children together. And now, they have announced that they will be starring in their very own reality television show, called ‘The Baldwins.’

In the teaser for the show, Hilaria says, “Seven children, six animals, two parents. Wild family.”

Baldwin also has an older daughter, Ireland Baldwin, who he shares with ex-wife actress Kim Basinger. The actor is known for various films, including The Hunt For Red October, Glengarry Glen Ross, and more. He was also in the comedy series 30 Rock and has made multiple appearances on Saturday Night Live, most famously for playing Donald Trump.

Baldwin, 66, was accused of involuntary manslaughter in 2021 of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins while on set of his western film titled, Rust. The case was thrown out by the judge mid-way through trial last year. Earlier this month, the actor has filed a lawsuit against the prosecutors of the case, alleging intentional concealment of evidence that would have absolved him from the case and also alleged that they “sought at every turn to scapegoat” him.

In the trailer for the show, the Baldwins’ briefly touch upon this topic. Alec says to his wife, “Honestly, from the bottom of my soul. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have you and these kids.”

Ms Hutchins died on set of Rust after Baldwin fired a Colt 45 he was holding. He maintains that he did not pull the trigger. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the accident. Hilaria mentions the death as well, saying “A son lost his mom in the most unthinkable tragedy. This is never something to forget – and we are trying to parent through it.” She further adds, “We’ve had bad moments but we’ve found our foundation. We’re solid and we’re here together.”

It seems some people are not too happy about the new reality show. One person posted to X, “Hard pass. Guy is a disaster.” “Why are they giving a show to a killer?,” another angry user wrote.

“Seems so Meta for Alec Baldwin to shoot someone and then get a TV show deal. What a load of horseshit,” another vocal dissenter added.

The movie was eventually released last year. It featured the story of a 13-year-old boy who is left to fend for himself and his young brother after his parents die in 1880s Wyoming. The boy is sentenced to hang for the accidental killing of a local rancher and to escape the sentence goes on to the run with his long-estranged grandfather.

The movie debuted at the Camerimage Festival in Poland. The event has a limited audience and is more muted than most big Hollywood premieres. While Baldwin himself was not there at the event, Souza was present and shared some thoughts before the screening. He said that it “wasn’t an easy decision by any means” to continue the film after Ms Hutchins’s death, “it became important to me and important to her husband that people see her final work”.

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the weapons supervisor for the film, was given the maximum 18 month prison sentence. She is currently appealing her sentence.
