A as a bride, one of the best things about the day is when your father walks you down the aisle. Therefore, it can be a tragedy for some whose fathers have passed away. However, luckily for Meadow Walker, her father’s best friend, Vin Diesel, had the honor of giving her away to her husband to be on behalf of his treasured co-star, Paul Walker. Many know that Paul died in a car accident in 2013. The wedding took place on October 23rd, 2021. And so they let the world know by posting a montage of wedding pics, captioned: “We are married!!!”
Meadow Walker sees Diesel as an extended father since he is in fact her godfather. Her father had passed away when she was only 15 in a car crash on November 30th, 2013. It was a shocking tragedy that took the life of her father, Paul Walker far too early. He was only 40 years old at the time of the crash.
Vin Diesel is a man who is known to value family above all else. So together, he and Meadow strive to keep Paul’s name alive. In an interview, one of her friends in her inner circle mentioned: “Meadow is so proud of her dad. She goes out of her way to respond to people who send letters or express their love of him and his work. She posts tributes to him on social media, keeps in touch with the people who were important in his life and generally acts on the advice he gave her whilst he was still alive.”
In an interview with Extra that he feels “very protective” over his Goddaughter. His best friend and himself starred in a movie that not only flashed some really fast cars with impressive engines but also taught a legacy of brotherhood. Something he carried on to this day by becoming the father figure in Meadow’s life.
Diesel said: “So, The whole point of the Fast and Furious saga is the idea that brotherhood can be created by bond and not necessarily blood. Therefore, much of Fast and Furious is celebrated by an eternal brotherhood. I never in a million years imagined 21 years ago that, beyond the script and the film, there would be this other guiding light. This other driving force that propels you to be as passionate as you can and manifest in the movie. We’re all mortals, but love is immortal.”
The Marriage of Meadow Walker and Louis Thornton-Allan
Meadow had organized a destination wedding in the Dominican Republic. The couple shared many photos of the special day on their Instagram pages. Showing a seaside wedding and Meadow walking down the aisle on the arm of her father’s best friend, Vin Diesel. She is wearing a sleek wedding dress, with a veil and everything. Meadow looked ecstatic as Diesel, dressed in a typical light blue casual suit, guides her with a proud expression on his face.
Meadow said: “We couldn’t have imagined it to be any more perfect and personal. So honestly it was easy and simple. Louis and I knew exactly what we wanted from the start. It was a very intimate celebration.”
So it all began with the 2001 hit movie, Fast and the Furious. Two characters that are best friends, Brian O’Conner and Dominic Torreto played by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, are in that order. Their friendship grew off-set, and Diesel was made the godfather to Paul’s daughter, Meadow. When Paul passed away, Diesel stepped in as a father figure for her.
They had a close relationship when Meadow was a little girl and it remained so until Paul’s untimely death. Since then, Diesel’s family, his two children, Pauline, Hania, and Vincent, and his life partner, Paloma Jiménez, have become like family to her. An insider told said: “She counts Vin and his kids as family and will talk to them on days she’s struggling. She has their backs too.”
Vin diesel knew Paul Walker for a long time, even before the movies, Fast and the Furious. It can be difficult to live without a friend who has been such a big part of your life.
“We’ve felt the loss. The last three years have been some of the hardest of my life because of losing my brother like that,” Diesel said in a 2016 interview with Entertainment Tonight.
He then referenced the fact that each time he had been to Brazil was with his best friend and co-star: “I’d been to Brazil two times before. Both times that I’ve been here, I’ve always been with my brother, Pablo.” Deisel often referred to Walker as Uncle Pablo.
Upon returning to Brazil without Paul Walker, he had an emotional time trying to deal with his death all over again. He said: “It was a lot of tissues. It was a hard morning for me yesterday because I was here. But the irony is the whole cast reached out. His daughter, Meadow, reached out, and all that stuff that helps you get through it.“
