On her wedding day, Jill Haddad Hawkins woke up feeling giddy with anticipation mixed with nausea.

She assumed it was simply typical pre-wedding anxiety.

As the ceremony commenced, Jill encountered difficulty articulating her vows. She was marching down the aisle in such excruciating anguish that she could hardly stand.

It was an even more intolerable reception. Looking at the wedding images, though, you’d never know it.

Following the wedding ceremony, Jill, her new spouse, and their bridal party convened at the beach to strike photos for the wedding photographer.

The group flashed their cheerful, smiling grins as waves broke behind them. From the outside, Jill appeared radiant and at ease. But she was taken to the hospital in an ambulance just after the reception.

When her guests discovered she had been in dire need of emergency surgery all day, they were taken aback.

It turned out that Jill had been hiding the excruciating pain she was in since she was a teenager, but she was not new to it. It made the decision to hide its ugly head till, of all days, the wedding day.
