7-year-old girl paralyzed at Loretta Lynn’s campground after teen lands on her back from 30-feet above
Life occasionally throws unforeseen events our way. A fun-filled day changed into a family’s greatest horror when their daughter was involved in a bizarre sad event.
Sarah Faulkner, 7, was enjoying a refreshing swim at a Waverly swimming hole. While swimming in Hurricane Creek at Loretta Lynn’s campsite, a youngster jumped from a 30-foot rock and fell squarely on Sarah’s back.
The seven-year-old is now being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She is paralyzed from the chest down.
According to her father, Tre Faulkner, the girl fell on her back, causing her entire body to freeze when she hit her head on the creek bottom. “Dad, my whole body froze and I couldn’t move my arms, then the arm started moving again and I swam to the top and started screaming,” her father recalled her daughter telling him.
Sarah needed 19 elements in her head, but that was the least of her family’s worries. Her injury has left her a paraplegic, which worries the entire family.
“Lord, man to man, tell me the truth, will he be able to walk again?” he asked and the doctor answered “no”. Her father remembered the doctor’s answer that it was quite impossible, but there was something more powerful than him.
He believes that God can and will heal his daughter; he desperately needs a miracle. His wife is in desperate need of a miracle. His children are in desperate need of a miracle. Someone is looking for a miracle. Earth requires a miracle to show that God is real and alive, Faulkner noted.
The family is very devout and is relying on their faith at this difficult time for them as their daughter recovers from this tragic event.
Sarah has three siblings who, together with their mother and father, hope for a quick and complete recovery for their sister.
The family expressed their gratitude for the large number of individuals praying for Sarah after they posted about the incident online and set up a GoFundMe page to help with her medical expenses. It is said that even atheists agreed to pray for the birth of a girl.
And he himself had never seen so many prayers pouring out and pouring out for an event in his life. It wasn’t just prayers, it was people saying, ‘May God walk again,’ and ‘She will walk again,’” Faulkner said.
The name of the teenager who fell for Sarah is not known because she apparently ran away amid the chaos, but the family bears no ill will against her.
When asked what to do with this girl, his child replied that they should forgive. As a result, they prayed for the girl. They can’t even imagine how much she’s in pain right now. And what they want to do as a family, God uses to show the same love that Jesus showed when he hung on the cross for the benefit of the world, Tre Faulkner said.
Sarah’s family strongly believes in the power of prayer and is confident that she will be able to walk again. Her father now has the evidence he needs to prove that his little girl can indeed recover.
Because she had no rectal tone the first day she arrived at the hospital, indicating no muscle tone there. Paraplegics experience this. The next day she developed a rectal tone. Last night she wiggled her toes, not her toes but her feet, she barely wiggled them. That is why they believe that God is healing this girl for his glory and honor, he explained.
They called the GoFundMe page “Sarah Will Walk Again” to show how strongly they believe Sarah will one day walk again.
