Joshua and Megan Hulen, like many other couples who already have sons, wanted to have a daughter. So when they decided to try again after one failed pregnancy, it didn’t take long for Megan to get pregnant. They were eager to find out whether or not they were going to have a daughter after so much time.
Before the pregnancy, the family had two sons, a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old. They were desperate for the girl and decided to try again one last time. The couple passed the fertility test, which revealed several problems that required the cancellation of additional therapy. Because they couldn’t believe it when they found out they were pregnant
When the doctors were able to get more information about her pregnancy, they informed the couple that she was definitely pregnant. But not only with a child; five!
“We went for our first ultrasound at six weeks and found out it was five,” Megan informed us. “It was kind of shocking, but it’s exciting and scary at the same time, I would say.” And Megan agreed: “Absolutely.”
According to this, Joshua and Megan were expecting quintuplets. And a family of four will have nine members. She told VKRG and others ask, “They didn’t come from IVF.” Her husband also said: “And it’s not the COVID babies. It used to come from them.”
Megan is lucky that the baby was conceived before the explosion started. This allowed her husband to join her on some of her early dates. And these meetings have helped the family grow closer as they face this ordeal, which will undoubtedly have a major impact on their lives.
On the other hand, her pregnancy was not easy as she had to deal with the knowledge that she would soon give birth to five children, as well as with the COVID-19 epidemic and the restrictions imposed on them. Megan said: “It was really crazy, something we never expected, for sure. ”
On September 2, Chloe, Adam, Emma, Alison and Madison were born at 32 weeks of their mother’s life. The proud dad said: “It’s amazing but overwhelming at the same time.”
Doctors and parents of quintuplets were equally shocked. Megan shared, “They’re not viable, or one or two disappear, or things like that happen. And so we thought, ‘Okay, it’s not going to be five. It’s going to be two, three or more. We came back in a week. and there were five heartbeats.
The odds of delivering quintuple are one in 43 million. For the family, this will be a big event. They are also the first five born in North Dakota!
Jacob, the brother of the brothers, had this to say: “I’m glad to be home and it’s just wonderful, because you know, this has never happened.
Even though it was bigger than they expected, Zoey is excited and happy to have a big family. She said: “We are blessed and happy about it. And Joshua laughed as he added: “Absolutely. And at some point in the future, when we fall asleep again, we’ll be thankful for that too.”
