Cyclist Thiago Costa Silva rescued five puppies during a training ride in Pernambuco, Brazil. He noticed them in a hole by the side of the
road and immediately called a fellow cyclist who was riding with him. The young men couldn’t pass by and decided to help the babies.
«It was a long way from residential houses. Someone had dug a hole and left them there to die. They were hungry, thirsty, weak and
couldn’t run away,» Silva says.
The boys carefully took the pups out of the hole and gave them water to drink. Then they hid the cubs in their T-shirts and drove toward
town.
«I took them back to my house and started taking care of them myself. Soon all the pups were adopted by good people who love
animals,» Silva says. — They will have a better life. I’m sure they’ll be well taken care of.»
