Her ‘final words’ caused quite the stir.
While the passing of someone you love isn’t easy, it needn’t be harder than we make it. For many, humor and celebration are the best ways to honor and remember someone’s life. Be sad, but remember them as they were through the best light possible.

One family did just that when they wrote a HILARIOUS obituary for their mom.

Sybil Marie Hicks died on February second in 2019 at the ripe old age of 81. She was from Baysville, Ontario, and she isn’t likely to be forgotten any time soon even though she really wasn’t famous before her death.
After she died, her family decided to write a first-person obituary to celebrate her life and publish it in The Hamilton Spectator.

The paper came out on February 5th and once it was released, people absolutely loved it. It wasn’t the touching obituary that one would normally think of, although it was a good representation of who she was. As a woman known to laugh and who loved to make others laugh, her kids decided to make the final words of her obituary hilarious!

“Mom was never boring. Mom lived large. She would do anything for anyone. It was rare for Mom not to have a smile on her face. Mom was always ready for a laugh.” – Barb Drummond

The opening lines set the tone for the entire thing.

“It hurts me to admit it, but I, Mrs. Ron Hicks from Baysville, have passed away,” they wrote. “I leave behind my loving husband, Ron Hicks, whom I often affectionately referred to as a ‘Horse’s Ass.’”

With her attack on her husband out of the way, “she” decided to move in on her kids.

“I also left behind my children whom I tolerated over the years; Bob (with Carol) my oldest son and also my favourite. Brian (with Ginette) who was the Oreo cookie favourite, Brenda AKA ‘Hazel’ who would run to clean the bathrooms when she heard company was coming,” they continued. “Barbara (with Gordon) the ever Miss Perfect and finally Baby Bruce who wouldn’t eat homemade turkey soup because he didn’t want to be alert looking for bones while he ate.”

If you can’t tell, they really went in with some of these roasts! Once they released this on Twitter, it obviously went viral.

People particularly loved some of the final words.

“I finally have the smoking hot body I have always wanted… having been cremated. Please come say goodbye and celebrate my wonderful life with my husband and his special friend Dorothy who is now lovingly taking care of my horse’s ass.”

Now THAT’S the best way they could have ended the entire thing. The smoking hot body of being cremated seemed to be the ideal joke to close out the whole thing.
