It might be even more difficult to know how much fake drugs the actors inhaled. But according to star Jonah Hill, he snorted enough prop drugs to make him ill.
The actor told Bill Simmons on HBO’s Any Given Wednesday that snorting the fake coke, which was actually vitamin powder, gave him a three-week bout of bronchitis. “If you ingest that much matter into your lungs, you get very sick. We were literally doing fake coke for seven months everyday,” Hill said. “I never had more Vitamin D in my entire life; I could have lifted a car over my f—ing head.”
Simmons and Hill also touched on the actor’s crossover from the comedic world into a more dramatic one. Hill loved Scorsese epics like Casino, but not many chances were available when his career began. “To me, there’s not much opportunity when you’re 21 to be in films like Goodfellas,” Hill said. “To break in, it’s not like I look like Brad Pitt or something like that or I was some unbelievable actor when I was a kid. Comedy’s been amazing, because I don’t think I would have broken into entertainment or the film world without starring in movies like that.”
